17. Moses PETTIT
was born about 1650 in Queens, Newtown, Long Island, New York. He died about
1716 in Mansfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Moses Pettit was a blacksmith
in Newtown, Long Island in 1696, and later owned a foundry in Bordertown, New
Jersey. It was used to cast cannons for the Patriotic Army during the Revolutionary
War. Part of that foundry was still remaining in 1923. His will was recorded
in Mansfield, Burlington Co., New Jersey in 1718.
